From Surviving to Stepping Forward

There are seasons in life when survival feels like the only goal. When you’ve known homelessness, instability, and uncertainty, hope can feel distant. Yet God is never absent in those valleys. Scripture reminds us, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18). Even when doors seem closed and dreams feel buried, God is quietly preparing new beginnings.

Stability is not just a roof or a routine — it is a testimony of God’s faithfulness. What once felt impossible becomes evidence of His grace. “He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand” (Psalm 40:2). Each step forward, no matter how small, is proof that God restores and rebuilds.

Now, as new opportunities appear, ones you never imagined you could pursue, remember they are not accidents. “'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future'” (Jeremiah 29:11). Your past does not disqualify you; it prepares you to walk with humility, gratitude and courage.

Let this season be marked by faith, not fear. The same God who carried you through homelessness is the One opening new doors today. “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” (Isaiah 43:19). Trust Him as you step into what once felt unreachable; your story is still being written.
